KAZAN prepares for Series of FISU Events

KAZAN A series of FISU events are due to be held in Kazan from September 20th to 22nd. FISU staff arrived in Kazan on Sunday to prepare these events which will bring FISU member associations’ delegates from all over the world to the capital of Tatarstan. A meeting of the FISU Executive Board is scheduled for September 20th. The Executive Committee meeting is followed by an Extraordinary General Assembly which will take place on September 21st, while the week will culminate with the FISU Gala on Saturday, September 22nd.

The FISU Executive Committee Meeting will approve the minutes from the EC meeting in May 2012 and hear progress reports delivered by the organising committees of the next Universiades. The FISU Extraordinary General Assembly will have a day-long session on September 21st and will be attended by representatives of the 163 member associations of FISU. The main goal of this Extraordinary GA is to introduce amendments to the FISU Constitution.

The FISU Gala will take place in the Pyramid Culture and Entertainment Complex on September 22nd and see the participation of FISU President Claude-Louis Gallien, President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Russian Student Sport Union President Oleg Matytsin and other officials. Representatives of the 163 FISU member countries, national and international sports stars, public and political figures of Russia and foreign countries will also attend the FISU Gala.
