FISU at the International Forum on Sport and Education

TOULON From June 8th to 9th, FISU attended the International Forum on Sport and Education organised by the International Sport School Federation in Toulon, France. The conference was one of the events organised in the context of the World School Volleyball Championship hosted by the National Union of School Sport of France. 1,000 pupils form 32 countries were in France for a week of competitions.

The opening address was delivered by Chantal Jouanno former French Minsiter of Sport and current member of the French Senate; Bernard Lama, world champion with the French Football team in 1998, he was representing Guyane; and Laurent Petrynka the Director of the National Union of School Sport of France.

Arnaud Richard, member of the FISU Education Committee was the moderator of the fist panel session dedicated to “International Relations, Sport as a Cooperation tool”. FISU Director of Education Kolë Gjeloshaj was also in attendance.

The other main organisations that attended the Forum were: UNESCO, Council of Europe, Peace and Sport, International Olympic Academy.

The themes of the five roundtables were the following:

“International Relations, Sport as a Cooperation Tool”

“Girls, encouraging their Presence in Sport at all Levels”

“Sport and Society, towards a Responsible Generation”

“International Sporting Events. Building a long lasting Legacy for the Youth”

“Sport Project Management. The Importance of Partnership.”
