1st Asian University Futsal Championship set to kick-off in Tehran

The Technical Director explains the new FIFA rules

TEHRAN – The 1^st Asian University Futsal Championship in Tehran, Iran welcomed 142 participants from 9 teams, including China, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, Macau, Oman, Syria, Thailand, and Iran. As the host, Iran had 2 teams.

Yesterday afternoon, all the teams have arrived. Together with the Organizing Committee, the accreditation was done by AUSF Secretariat in an efficient way. In conjunction with the Futsal championship, the International Sports Science Conference for Asian Universities and AUSF Executive Committee will be held. It is the first time for 3 AUSF events to be held in the same city at the same period. The grand opening ceremony for these 3 events will be held on the morning of 7^th June, which will be live broadcasted in Tehran.

After the accreditation, the Technical Committee was held. Mr. Kenny CHOW, AUSF Secretary General, hosted the meeting, with the attendance of AUSF Vice Secretary General Mr. XUE Yanqing, AUSF General Coordinator Ms. Laura YAN, Technical Deputy of the OC Dr. Mohammadreza Dehkhodo, Executive Deputy of the OC Dr. Javad Shahlaei and Mr. Seyed Sadreddin, who is FIFA and AFC Futsal Referee’s Instructor and Assessor.

Q & A time

During the meeting, the Technical Committee was set up, including Mr. Kenny CHOW, Mr. Seyed Sadreddin, Dr. Mohammadreza Dehkhodo, team managers of Hong Kong and Syria who were nominated. The Technical Committee has the final decision on controversial issues, especially the technical issues and the Technical Committee members were required to present at each single match. Considering that this was the first edition of AUSF Futsal championship, so Futsal World Ranking was taken as the reference for grouping. Finally, Iran team A, Kazakhstan, China, Macau and Oman were in Group A. Iran team B, Thailand, Hong Kong and Syria were in Group B. The first match between Iran team A and Macau will start on the afternoon of 6^th June.

After the grouping, Mr. Seyed Sadreddin explained carefully the news rules of FIFA Futsal and checked the uniform color for each match.
