MSSF crowns 2012 National University Champions

ULAANBAATAR – The Mongolian Student Sports Federation (MSSF) in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science Mongolia, the Government Implementing Agency State Authority for Physical Culture and Sports Mongolia and the Mongolian Student Union (MSU) organized the 2012 National University Championship with 9 sports events including volleyball, table tennis, handball, judo, chess, futsal, woodball, hiking and basketball from February 1st to May 11th in Ulaanbaatar city.

Over 1,100 students from 34 university and colleges from the capital city and the provinces got involved in this year’s edition. The organization received the support of representatives of the Mongolian universities, Central Sports Palace and other sports clubs while 125 local and national referees participated as well.

These first six placed universities were awarded a cup, a Diploma of Honor and prize money.

Final Top 6 Ranking of the 2012 NUC:

1. Mongolian University of Science and Technology

2. Mongolian National Institute of Physical Education

3. “Mon-Altius” Physical Education Institute

4. Mongolian State University of Education

5. Mongolian State University of Agriculture

6. National University of Mongolia

The Awarding Ceremony was held on May 17th in the Conference Hall at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science Mongolia (MECSM) and was attended by Mr. Dalaijargal B., State Secretary of MECSM; Mr. Bayasgalan D., MSSF President and FISU Treasurer; Mr. Byambagerel N., MSU Secretary-General and Dr. Jargalsaikhan D., MSSF Secretary-General and AUSF Assessor, as well as representatives of Mongolian universities, press delegations and other officials.

MSSF is preparing the 11th National Universiade Games with 15 sports on the program including aerobics, boxing, volleyball, handball, futsal, judo, woodball, basketball, national wrestling, athletic, skating, skiing, freestyle wrestling, chess and table tennis which will start in February 2013. The NUSF Mongolia is also planning to participate in the 2013 Universiade in Kazan in 16 sports events with a delegation of 234 athletes who will be selected at the National Universiade Games.
