In collaboration with Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia (MOHE), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and National University of Laos (NUOL), a 2-day international sports conference will held in Vientiane, Lao PDR. This conference to be held in conjunction with the 16th ASEAN University Games (AUG) is scheduled tentatively on the 13th – 14th December 2012. Conference Theme is ‘Current Development & Challenges in Sport’.
The ASEAN University Sports Council (AUSC) provides a platform for all stakeholders involved planning sports and exercise around region to deliberate on “Current Development & Challenges in Sport”. This is intended to bring about greater awareness of sports and exercise to all stakeholders (government, industry, professional organizations, consumer bodies and the public). It is a call for all stakeholders to collaborate in promoting sports in the region.
Specialized symposia sessions will be arranged to discuss current developments in sports and the relevant disciplines. The Conference provides symposia and poster participants to share their finding and experiences addressing contemporary issues and regional development in sports. It offers opportunities for networking and also encouraged to visit and enjoy the 16th AUG 2012.
This educational event gives the opportunity to student-athletes and officials of delegations to take part in an international academic conference supervised by AUSC and hosted by the university of the Games. The subthemes have also been defined:

Participants are invited to submit an abstract of their paper by email to auscic2012secretariat@salam.uitm.edu.my or farahiza@masum.org.my not later than July 1st, 2012. The participants must also register for the Conference through the official website.
