OTTAWA – Canadian Interuniversity Sport and Marg McGregor announced Friday May 4th, that the long-time chief executive officer of CIS will be leaving her position on June 1, 2012.
In 12 years at the helm, McGregor strengthened relationships and connections between CIS and the national sport community, and led the organization through a period of significant reform.
“It has been a privilege to serve student-athletes, and I have thoroughly enjoyed being with CIS for twelve of its 50-year history,” said McGregor. “I want to thank the very dedicated and hard working staff members, and would also like to acknowledge the tireless support of the CIS Board of Directors over the years.”
“On behalf of the Board of Directors and our member institutions, I thank Marg for the leadership she has provided to CIS. We are very grateful for her significant contributions to our organization during an important period of its evolution,” said Leo MacPherson, president of CIS. “Her passion for excellence has served CIS well. We wish Marg all the best in her future endeavours.”
A search committee has been established and the search will begin immediately. Leo MacPherson will oversee the process for the identification and selection of the next CEO of CIS.
