Talita Rocha fourth place at the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008, Emanuel Rego, Olympic Champion in Athens 2004, & Agatha Bednarczuk bronze medallist at the 2011 Summer Universiade in Shenzhen
RECIFE – From March 2nd to 4th, the second leg of the ‘Bank do Brasil’s Beach Volleyball Circuit’ took place at Pina Bach in Recife, with 16 male pairs and 12 female pairs participating.
During this CBV event (Brazilian Confederation of Volleyball) Bank of Brasil invited three professional athletes to participate in a workshop with students at one university in Recife, covering various academic areas, from nutrition to journalism.
The athletes invited were Emanuel Rego, Olympic Champion in Athens 2004, Talita Rocha fourth place at the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008 and Agatha Bednarczuk bronze medallist at the 2011 Summer Universiade in Shenzhen.
After the presentation of the athletes, the students could ask them about different topics regarding beach volleyball, sports marketing, nutrition, training routine, relationships with the media and so on …
In one of the questions Emanuel Rego highlighted the relationship that the athlete should have with the media.
“The relationship must exist between the athlete, the confederations and the media. The benefit is guaranteed for both, especially with sponsors return”, Emanuel said.
The purpose of the workshop was to bring volleyball closer to future professionals in order to make them understand how a partnership between sport and corporations works.
The workshop lasted 1 hour and half with approximately 100 students attending and souvenirs were raffled at the end, including VIP area tickets to the games. The same event will be held in other cities where the circuit will pass.
