Société Générale, Sponsor of the World University Championships Rugby 7 & Bridge in France.

PARIS – French bank Société Générale, a partner of the French Federation of University Sports since 2006, has signed two specific partnership agreements to support the World University Championships of Bridge (Reims – 10/15 July 2012) and Rugby 7s (Brive-la -Gaillarde – 11-13 July 2012). A choice that fits into the brand’s strategy as Société Générale is the partner of these two sport disciplines in France.

In addition to promoting XV of France and amateur rugby, Société Générale has invested heavily in the development of rugby 7s. Creation in 2001 of a rugby championship in France for players aged 7 to 17 years, together with the French Rugby Federation, called the ‘Challenge Société Générale’.

At the FFSU level, Société Générale is a partner of five championships of France Rugby 15 (Elite, National 2, Universities, Schools and Women’s) and three championships of France Rugby 7s (boys and girls Elite and Big Schools) all labeled ‘Trophy Société Générale “.

Regarding the bridge, the partnership of the bank shall focus on the development of the game among youth, particularly in schools and the support of the entire high-level competitions with national teams (open, ladies , senior, Junior, U20, university).

Some thirty countries are expected this summer for the World University Championships in Brive for Rugby 7s and some 20 for Bridge inReims.
