COSTA RICA – From March 1st to 4th Costa Rica will host the 1st ODUPA and Gender Equity Meeting. Host FECUNDE, the Costarican FISU Member Association, hopes to receive representatives of more than nine countries of the Pan-American region.
Brazil, United States, Guyana, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico,S pain, Ecuador and Panama are the countries that top the list of attendees.
The first ODUPA and Gender Equity Meeting is the first step in the plan of action: “Working Together” currently being developed by the FISU Committee on Gender Equity.
This time, the meeting will be held together with the Pan-American University Sports Association (ODUPA) and the Costarican University Sports Federation, FECUNDE.
“Working Together is intended to make a diagnosis of the current situation and provide new strategies. We hope, in the future, to be able to make these meetings along with other continental organizations”, commented Rosa Mendez Gamboa, Chair of the Gender Equity Commission of FISU.
