HUA HIN – For the 1st Asian University Golf Championships, 6 countries and regions, including China, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Chinese Taipei and Thailand, finally made their way to Thailand.
Technical Committee meeting
At 10h00, the Technical Committee meeting was held. Before the meeting, AUSF Technical Delegates, Mr. SEETOW Cheng Fave and Mr. HA Woong Yong had a meeting with the Tournament Director Mr. DANLUEDAJ Tawatchai from the OC. They went through every issue to be declared during the Technical Committee meeting.
According to the Agenda, the Tournament Director introduced the details on the driving range, golf course, caddie service, meal arrangement, bag storage, etc., who also carefully explain the local competition rules.
Opening Ceremony and Welcome Party
Opening Ceremony
The Opening Ceremony was held on the Golf Course, outdoor. Three “F”s could be used to describe this ceremony, fascinating, fashionable and flashing. The Opening Ceremony started at 17h15. After the speech from Asst. Prof. LAPCHAROENSUP Wutisak, President of the Organizing Committee and President of Ramkhamhaeng University, AUSF President ZHANG Xinsheng delivered a speech, expressing the gratitude to all the participants for their coming from afar for this tournament, gratitude to University Sport Board of Thailand (USBT) and Ministry of Education for their hospitality and great endeavor and great wishing to the participants for best performance and wishing to this championship for a great success. Then President ZHANG invited Prof. Dr. SUEBKA Prasart, President of USBT to declare the opening of this event. It was quite delighted to invite the former President of Ramkhamhaeng University to tee off. By saying the Opening Ceremony fascinating, because it was held outdoor, on the golf course and the staged was located facing the sea and mountain. All the participants were attracted by the picturesque scene. By saying it fashionable, because it was the first time to see that the panel of each participating country or region marched into the course taken by cart. By saying it flashing, because fireworks brightened the sky and the face of each participant, especially after sunset. The Opening Ceremony ended with passionate dancing performance of Ramkhamhaeng university students. A warm welcome party was held after the Opening Ceremony, during which the President of USBT presented a souvenir to each participating team and AUSF President ZHANG presented a special souvenir to the OC, the USBT, and Ministry of Education. The souvenir weighted a little, but meant a lot, which contained the sincere gratitude of all the university students in Asia.
