ZURICH – This week the Swiss Delegation team for Maribor 2013 had its Kick-Off Meeting in Zurich.
Fredi Schneider Fredi Schneider will take the responsibility for the Maribor Swiss Team as Head of Delegation and Christoph Boecklin will be his Deputy. Schneider has a 20 year’s experience in University Sports. He is the director of competitive Sport in the Swiss University Sports Federation since 2006, and Mariborwill be his 10th Universiade. Boecklin is an Engineer ETH
Christoph Boecklinand works for the SUSF since 2009 in the summer and in the winter team. New in the team will be Mirjam Pfenninger, Master in sport science and psychology. She works for more than 10 years together with Fredi Schneider at the Academic Sports Association in Zurich. Furthermore Dr Walter Frey will again lead the medical staff and Daniela Erni will be responsible for the media team. Administrative support will be given by Bettina Schuler who brings a lot of experience from the organization of the Swiss teams to the World University Championships.
Mirjam Pfenninger A big challenge for the leading team is the fact, that its members are widespread over the world: Daniela Erni works in Australia, Chris Boecklin in Stockholm and Mirjam Pfenninger in Austria.
The Swiss University Sports Federation intends to compete with athletes in Alpine Skiing, Cross Country Skiing, Biathlon, Nordic Combined, Ski Jumping, Curling, Snowboard and Figure Skating.
