FISU Work Meetings in Lausanne

FISU SG/CEO Saintrond and FISU President Gallien

 

LAUSANNE FISU President Claude-Louis Gallien and Secretary-General/CEO Eric Saintrond held various meetings in Lausanne, working both in preparations of the upcoming Executive Committee meeting and also at various other appointments.

The annual meeting of international sports federations based in the Canton of Vaud took place at the IMD –International Institute for Management Development and was hosted by Jim Pulcrano (IMD Executive Director). Welcoming speeches were delivered by Philippe Leuba (State Counselor, head of the Economy Department), Marc Veilleumier (Municipal Counselor and President of the Maison du Sport International), Ueli Maurer (Federal Counselor in charge of Federal Department of defense, population protection and sports) and Jacques Rogge (President of the International Olympic Committee).

This meeting provided an excellent chance to gather representatives from international federations’ Presidents and Secretary-Generals, as well as with the City ofLausanneand Canton of Vaud authorities.

During the same period, FISU attended the IF Forum, being represented by Summer Universiade Director Marc Vandenplas. This year’s edition focused on Sport and the City and Building an Effective Federation, and included a media seminar providing on-camera training for attending federations.
