More than 30 International Sports Federations at City Events 2011

LAUSANNE In just three days, key representatives from more than 30FISU partner International Sports Federations and 68 world leading sports cities from 38 countries will be attending City Events, the conference “where cities meet sport”, which will take place in Lausanne, the Olympic Capital from November 16th to 18th, 2011.  

The Presidents, Secretary-Generals and event directors of more than 30 International Sports Federations have confirmed their presence at this year’s edition of City Events 2011.

City Events 2011 is the only platform uniquely dedicated to connecting ambitious host cities and public institutions with international sports federations. This unique turnout is a tremendous opportunity for cities and countries from around the world to make valuable connections for their future in sports event hosting.

Many key international federations have confirmed their presence such as Archery (WA), Athletics (IAAF), Badminton (BWF), Basketball (FIBA), Boxing (AIBA), Canoeing (ICF), Hockey (FIH), Judo (IJF), Rowing (FISA), Swimming (FINA), Taekwondo (WTF), Triathlon (ITU), Volleyball (FIVB), Wrestling (FILA) and many more, also including a number of private event owners.

All these organizations will all be available for speed meeting session during which all city/country representatives will be able to introduce themselves and initiate a dialogue with the owners of some of the best sports events in the world.

Approximately 68 world leading sports cities that have enrolled include Aarhus (Denmark), Accra (Ghana), Almaty (Kazakhstan), Annecy (France), Athens (Greece), Auckland (New Zealand), Baku (Azerbaijan), Berlin and Hamburg (Germany), Bern and Lausanne (Switzerland), Brussels (Belgium), Cleveland, Indianapolis and Colorado Springs (USA), Dakar (Senegal), Dubai (UAE), Edmonton and Québec  (Canada), Gwangju (Korea), Helsinki, Tampere and Lahti (Finland), Budapest (Hungary), Johannesburg  (South Africa), Kathmandu (Nepal), Lagos (Nigeria), London (Great Britain), Lyon and Paris (France), Milan (Italy), Moscow and Sochi (Russia), Richmond (Australia), Stockholm (Sweden), Monaco and Singapore, amongst many others.
