Participants of the Round Table “The implementation of international educational projects as a strategic partnership in the development of the international sports movement” during the Forum in Saransk
SARANSK – “Russia – Country of Sports” – this was the title of the 3rd International Sports Forum organized from 8th to 10th of September in Saransk, Russia. With previous editions in Kazan (2009) and Moscow (2010), the Forum has created optimal conditions for discussion and exchange of experiences in dealing with current aspects of physical culture and sport as well as expansion of international cooperation.
A wide range of different topics like the 2018 FIFA Football World Cup in Russia, the Olympic Movement inRussia, the promotion of a healthy lifestyle and the prospects of sport medicine were discussed in plenary sessions, round tables and seminars in the Capital of the Republic of Mordovia.
An International Sport Movie Festival was also organized as several international exhibitions, i.e. “Sport literature, press and multi-media”, “Modern Sports: Innovations and Prospects – 2011” and the photo exhibition “Sport – Development of Russia”. Master classes in different sports concluded the program.
A special place in the Forum program was devoted to the discussion of staffing of physical culture and sport; improving of the educational technologies used in this area within the framework of the Round Table “The implementation of international educational projects as a strategic partnership in the development of the international sports movement”. This Round Table was held with the participation of the International University Sport Federation, the Russian Student Sport Union and theFederalStatebudgetary institution of higher education “Volga Region State Academy of Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism”.
The Round Table which was chaired by Oleg Matytsin, FISU 1st Vice President and President of the Russian Student Sport Union, offered a variety of different presentations related to University Sport and Sport in higher education programs. A report about “The fundamental tasks and objectives of the FISU International Education Center” by Oleg Matytsin was also given as well as the presentations about “Educational and cultural aspects of the Summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan” by Vladimir Leonov, General Director of the Summer Universiade Kazan 2013. A special topic regarding educational programs was mentioned by Verena Burk, Member of the FISU Executive Committee. Mrs. Burk reported about the “Situation, Perspectives and Education in Sport Journalism” and explained why and how Sport Journalism could be included in University Bachelor and Master programs as a proper subject.
