BEIJING – With less than one week to go before the Head of Delegation meeting of the Shenzhen 26th Summer Universiade, Nels J. Kawkinson and Sean Macshane, both closely involved in the organization of team USA for the Universiade, paid a visit to the national office of the FUSC before going further south to Shenzhen on April 9th.
On a pleasant Saturday morning, they were hosted by XUE Yanqing, Vice Secretary General of the FUSC. XUE was delighted to learn that USA will send a 400+ delegation to Shenzhen, with 28 teams of prominence, which is unprecedented in its 50 years of history as involved in University Games.
The two sides also express their mutual interest in further strengthening the tie and promote healthy partnership between each other, so that students from both nations gain from such level of cultural exchange and mass communication.
It is expected that Georgetown University, a prestigious one in sport field, will send a basketball team to Beijing and Shanghai this year in April. The two sides agree to further work on this initiative in the following months.
