LONDON – The annual SportAccord Convention in which IOC members, all the International Sports Federations as well as candidate cities and many companies linked to sports business can meet took place from April 4th to 8th in London. More than 1,500 participants had also the opportunity to visit some of the Olympic Venues.
It has become now a very useful tradition for FISU to have a booth in SportAccord in order to make the promotion of University Sports and the events it organizes year long. As usually it was a rare opportunity to meet many key actors of the International Sports World. The FISU booth which was very well located was day long full of visitors who are really very interested by the development of our activities.
FISU Secretary-General/CEO Eric Saintrond, WU Director Milan Augustin, WUC Director Laurent Briel, SU Director Marc Vandenplas and Media Director Dejan Susovic had the opportunity to organize many meetings that will help them in the preparation of their respective works.
FISU EC Members, Stefan Berg and Alison Odell have supported FISU staff and participated in some of the meetings. The presence of FISU in such international events is more than useful and even indispensable for its recognition.
