HUSF elects New President

BUDAPEST The last weekend of March brought significant changes in the life of HUSF. At the beginning of the General Assembly held on the 25th of March 72 athletes and coaches were awarded, all of them medallists of the 2010 World University Championships, as well as the ladies short-track relay team, who won the bronze medal at the 2011 Erzurum Winter Universiade.

Following the regular reports and summary of the year 2010 the elections took place. After 20 years – following the decease of Dr. Robert FRENKL in February 2010 – the assembly elected its new president. There were also changes in the statutes of HUSF; the structure of the Executive Board has been modified, the total number of members has been reduced to 15 (from 21): the work of the president until the next elections in 2015 is supported by 3 vice-presidents and 11 members, including 2 students.

Dr. Tamás SÁRKÖZY, the newly elected president of the HUSF is a university professor, former rector, a person of recognized standing both by the state and the civil society.

The continuity of the work of the HUSF will be provided by HUSF Headquarters led by Secretary-General Dr. Csaba HÉDI. The three vice-presidents are Dr. Pál VINCZE, Dr. Lajos BESENYEI, Dr. László HONFI.
