HUSF Celebrates 125 Year-Old Hungarian Gymnastics Federation

BUDAPEST The Hungarian Gymnastics Federation celebrated the 125th anniversary of its foundation on 17th December in Budapest. A palatial gala – with the participation of Olympic-, World-, European- and Universiade champions – has evoked the history and the shiniest Hungarian results which considerably contributed to the development of this sport worldwide. Thousands of spectators were amused by exercises of high standard performed by gymnasts of all ages, among them many former Universiade participants. The patroness of the event was Mrs. Katalin MAKRAY (wife of Hungary’s President Mr. Pál SCHMITT), former Universiade winner and Olympic medallist gymnast.

The Hungarian University Sports Federation acknowledged the work of the Hungarian Gymnastics Federation with a certificate of merit handed over by HUSF General Secretary Dr. Csaba HÉDI to Dr. Zoltán MAGYAR, President of HGF, former Olympic-, World- and European champion, Universiade medallist.
