MONACO – FISU Secretary-General/CEO Eric Saintrond represented FISU at the 4th Peace and Sport International Forum in Monaco which took place from December 1st to 3rd, 2010.
An influential community of decision-makers from sport, politics and the private sector gathered together for the 4th time in the Principality of Monaco to put sport at the service of sustainable peace in the world. Under the High Patronage of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, in a neutral and apolitical environment, this summit brought together more than 500 experts and leading figures from 90 countries in order to achieve a major goal: fortify the role of sport in international and local policies for peace-building, peace-keeping and peace-promotion in countries in crisis.
At the event the best initiatives for peace through sport rewarded with the 2010 Peace & Sport Awards.
