EUSA Volleyball and Football Championships

Warsaw hosted two EUSA Championships this year: the 10th European Universities Volleyball Championship and 8th European Universities Football Championship.

EUC Volleyball succesfully concluded on July 29th, 2010 with an exciting Closing Ceremony in Szturmowa SC in Warsaw. 13 men and 12 women university teams participated on the event. In men finals, the champion title went to Mordovskiy State University who won a final match against Eindhoven University of Technology. This breath-taking match finished with the result 3:0. In women finals, the champion title went to Bahcesehir University who won the final match against University of Belgrade 3:0.

Medals and awards were presented by EUSA Delegate Mr. Wolf Fruhauf, EUSA Technical Delegate Jean-Loup Miquet and Jacek Kasprzyk, Treasurer of University Sport Association of Poland, Chief of Warsaw University Sport Association Włodzimierz Leśniewski and Vice-Rector of Warsaw University Tadeusz Tomaszewski.

In the end, EUSA flag was passed to the captain of the University of Belgrade team, as the next EUC Volleyball will take place in Kragujevac, Serbia. 
 

At the same time 12 men and 7 women teams participated in the European Universities Football Championship.

The title of champions went in men’s category to Halic University, Turkey who won a thrilling final match against Holly Cross University in Kielce, Poland and in women’s category to to University School of Physical Education in Wroclaw, Poland who won an exciting final match against University of Lausanne, Switzerland. At the closing ceremony the medals and awards were presented by Antonis Petrou and Andreas Demetriou – EUSA Technical Delegates for Football, Adam Roczek – EUSA Sports Manager, Marek Konopczyński – OC President, Zdzisław Brzeziński – Mayor of Piastów and Suleyman Rana and Sylwia Szmytelska from Rasio Sport Company. The next championship will take place in Istanbul, Turkey in July 2011.
