FISU at International Sports Writers Seminar in Tehran

TEHRAN – Based on the contacts between the FISU delegates at the 2010 AIPS Congress in Antalya, Turkey, the Iranian Sports Journalists Association (ISJA) invited CIP Chair Leonz Eder and Vice Chair Verena Burk to attend the 1st International Sports Writers Seminar to be held in Tehran, Iran. Both FISU Assessors are strongly involved in the program of the seminar. In the following two days Leonz Eder will present the topics “Structure of FISU”, “FISU and its activities” and “Communication and Media”. Verena Burk will report about “Women in the International University Sport”, “Sport in the media – the German example” and “Responsibility of mass media and sports journalism for high-performance sport”. Around 40 participants from 10 different countries will take part in the two-day seminar. Besides of sport journalists of Iran, delegations from China, Turkey, Armenia, Kuwait, Qatar, India, Azerbaijan, Iraq and Afghanistan are expected to participate.

Additional to the seminar Burk and Eder will meet representatives of the Iranian University Sport Federation and the National Olympic Committee of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
