FISU Attends IF Staff Seminar in Lausanne

LAUSANNE – The third IF Staff Seminar 2010 took place at the Maison du Sport International in Lausanne this 1st June under the topic Clean Sport.

FISU was represented by the Assistant to the Secretary General/CEO Caroline Feyaerts, FISU Sports Manager Michal Buchel and Executive Assistant Paulo Ferreira, furthering the Federation’s presence at this seminar program and at the MSI.

The seminar on Clean Sports focused mainly on out-of-competition testing with a legal point-of-view presentation by Andrea Zimmerman behalf of CAS – Court of Arbitration for Sport, followed by a more scientific approach presented by Dr. Martial Saugy from the Swiss Laboratory of Doping Analyses. The session was facilitated by Mario Zorzoli from the International Cycling Union.

A total of 34 participants took part in the seminar, representing 19 international sports federations and organisations: European Athletic Association, International Rowing Federation, International Basketball Federation, International Baseball Federation, International Archery Federation, International Bobsleigh and Tobogganing Federation, International Cycling Union, International Equestrian Federation, International Fencing Federation, International Gymnastics Federation, International Hockey Federation, International Motorcycling Federation, International Swimming Federation, International Skating Union, International Volleyball Federation, the World Anti-Doping Agency, SportAccord, the Court of Arbitration for Sport, the Swiss Laboratory for Doping Analyses and, as mentioned, FISU.

The next IF Staff Seminar at MSI will be on the 22nd June on Development.
