MSSF Awards its Best Athletes of 2009

On December 28th, 2009, the Mongolian Student Sports Federation (MSSF) organized annual its University sports award ceremony in the Central Sports Palace in Ulaanbaatar to which attended more than 20 media delegates. D. Bayasgalan, FISU Treasurer and MSSF President, Mr. Ch. Baterdene, MSSF 1st Vice President and Director of the Department Ministry of Education, Dr. D. Jargalsaikhan, MSSF Secretary-General and Assessor of AUSF, CIC member FISU as well as the MSSF Board members were present in the ceremony.

The following Athletes received an award

1. Ms. Lhamdegd, student at the Agricultural University, a silver medallist of the 2009 Universiade in Judo -70kg,

2. Ms. Urantsetseg student at the Police Academy, a silver medallist of the 2009 Universiade in Judo -48kg,

3. Ms. Tsetsegjargal, student at the National Institute of Physical Education and Sport – the best player of the 2009 Asian University Women’s Volleyball Championship in Thailand and bronze medalist AUWBC

4. Mr. B. Uuganbaatar, student at the Technology College in Ulaanbaatar, has broken 4 different Mongolian national Records during the 2009 Winter Universiade in Harbin for long speed skating.

These four students were awarded with the “Best Mongolian Student Athlete of 2009”-award by President of the Mongolian Student Sports Federation D. Bayasgalan.

Also the men’s football team of Ulaanbaatar University (Best team award), L. Gundegmaa (Best university sports researcher), Mongolian Education University (Best university sport organization city Ulaanbaatar), Economic College in Uliastai city, Zavkhan province (Best university sports regional organization) were selected from among other university sports members of Mongolia in 2009.

In 2009, MSSF organized among others the 8th Mongolian Student Sports Games or “National Universiade” involving around 34,500 students from some 125 universities and colleges in Mongolia at three levels.

The main priority of MSSF for the new year is to successfully host the 4th World University Boxing Championship from October 4to to 10th, 2010. So far, MSSF received entry forms from 15 countries, by far the highest number of interested participants in the WUC Boxing history FISU.
