Dr. Frenkl receives the Life President award from Dr. Csaba Hédi
The 102-year old Hungarian University Sports Federation held its regular General Assembly on March 28th. On this occasion altogether 42 medal winners of the 2008 World University Championships have been awarded together with their coaches.
As the 75th birthday of HUSF President, FISU Honorary Member Dr. Robert Frenkl is approaching, the General Assembly and HUSF Presidency awarded him the title of “Life President” for the first time in HUSF history. His commitment to university sport for over 50 years and his tireless work entitled him for this prestigious award. The participants of the Assembly, representatives of all Hungarian institutes of higher education greeted him with endless rounds of applause.
This year’s “Life’s Work Award” has been adjudged to Prof. Mrs. Gyöngyi Földesi, member of HUSF presidency and FISU CESU. Mrs. Földesi is a highly appreciated representative of both Hungarian and international sports science.”
