Polish MA Celebrates Centennial Anniversary

Today, February 19th, the Polis FISU Member Association AZS gave a reception to celebrate its Centennial Anniversary with other FISU members.

‘I am delighted that we can meet here in Harbin at the Winter Universiade with such a splendid and large body representing university sport from all over the world’, ASZ President Tomasz Szponder said to all the guests.

FISU President George Killian‘This is a very special year for AZS, as we celebrate the 100th year of our activities’, the AZS President continued. ‘It was 100 years full of great successes of the Polish Student-Athletes at all major sports events worldwide, including the Olympic Games and Universiades as well as 100 years of our Association’s service to all students so that they could improve and develop their sports interests while studying. It was also a 100 years of bonding, building friendships, sometimes all-life long, as well as creating the Polish sports movement and co-founding the international student sports movement.’

FISU President George Killian also took the floor and thanked the Polish Member for its efforts and for being such an active member, organizing Universiades and World University Championships.
