The History of Hockey in FISU
Hockey joined the FISU programme Summer Universiade in 1991. After that, it was attributed as the World University Championships but was cancelled twice due to the lack of participating teams. Hockey remains a FISU-recognised sport, and it returned to FISU in 2013 during the Summer Universiade in Kazan. The Republic of Korea and the Russian Federation win the women’s and men’s tournaments, respectively.
