FISU launched this journalism education programme to provide young journalists with a unique and unrivalled training experience during two of FISU’s major multi- sport events, the Summer and Winter Universiades. The Young Reporters’ Programme is targeted at 21 to 25-year-old students or recent graduates from the journalism and communications fields.

FISU will select six candidates; from Africa (1), America (2), Asia (1), Oceania (1) and Europe (1). Successful applicants will be at the heart of the action throughout the Universiade, with full access to the competition venues. This select group of up-and- coming journalists will be joined by 12 of their peers from the host country of Russia.

“The FISU Young Reporters Programme is a unique educational project enabling young journalists from all over the world visit the Winter Universiade 2019 while also enhancing their professional journalism skills,” said Maxim Urazov, Krasnoyarsk 2019 Winter Universiade Director General.

“Young people will see Siberia with their own eyes and tell about it to their friends worldwide,” added Urazov. “The participants will get to study and work together. This programme provides a platform that unites students in friendship which, in its turn, contributes to cultural interaction and dialogue, one of the main targets of the Universiade.”
