Elections were organized by the Belgian University Sports Federation (BUSF), resulting in a new Executive Committee. On a national level the Federation decided to integrate the ongoing federalization of the country: Each two years the chairmanship will be attributed, without elections, to the chairman of one of the two Regional Federations: the Dutch speaking ‘Flemish Student Sport Federation’ (VSSF) and the French speaking ‘Sports Association for Universities and Colleges’ (ASEUS). As a result of this decision, the chairman of the VSSF, Mr. Jan Bonnarens, was installed as BUSF President.
On the international level, the Federation decided to appoint one sole representative: Mr. Peter Verboven, Director of Sports of the University of Antwerp, was elected as International Executive BUSF, responsible with voting power for all international BUSF matters such as FISU and EUSA.

Finally, the Secretary General of the BUSF remains Mr. Dieter Theylaert, additionally appointed to support Mr. Peter Verboven on the international level as the Belgian Head of Delegation for all FISU Universiades.
