Post Office opens at Universiade Village

KAZAN - The Universiade Village officially opened its door for a brand new service as the post office in the 420010 zip code was launched at the student campus last week. The grand opening was attended by Farid Abdulganiev, Universiade Village Mayor, Vitaly Utkin, Head of Information Technologies and Communications of Kazan’s Executive Committee, Regina Kuznetsova, Director of Tatarstan Pochtasy, the branch of the Russian postal service Pochta Rossii, and other officials.

"Today is a very happy day for us. We are launching the post office at the Universiade Village in accordance with the requirements of FISU and it will be part of the Games legacy," Farid Abdulganiev said.

"We've been marching towards this for two years and now there is a nice post office here, at the student campus. For our part, we promise to do everything possible to ensure a smooth running of the office," Regina Kuznetsova said to the students who were present at the ceremony.

The new post office will be a gift for students residing in the Universiade Village. It will offer all types of modern-day postal services provided by Pochta Rossii.

A ceremony of cancelling the stamped envelope bearing the logo of the 27th Summer Universiade took place as part of the opening ceremony as well. The Kazan 2013-logoed envelopes will be available for purchase at the new post office located at Building 11a, Universiade Village, Kazan.
