On 2-8 July 2017, FISU in cooperation with the authorities of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia,  will organise for the first time the international forum “FISU Volunteer Leaders’ Academy 2017”. The first edition of the forum, aimed at consolidating FISU expertise in sports volunteering, will take place in Kazan, the capital of sports and volunteering movement of Russia, boosting the heritage of 2013 Summer Universiade. The event is expected to bring together leaders in sports volunteering from 170 FISU member federations.

 

The forum is conceived as a mean to help young volunteer leaders from all over the world to actively contribute to the international volunteering movement and thus to promote intercultural dialogue and international cooperation for the benefit of university sports worldwide

The first edition of the forum will consist of 7 days of comprehensive educational events, trainings, seminars as well as entertaining cultural activities. Along with classes by university professors and business coaches the organisers have scheduled lectures and master-classes conducted by experts from the IOC, UNESCO, WADA and representatives of organising committees of future Universiades.

 

The forum is open for participation for 18-27 year old university students. Apart from their student status verification, the candidates should have a confirmed volunteering experience or be involved in the organisation of volunteering activities in their university. The participation in the first edition of the forum is free and organisers cover all participation expenses, including travel, accommodation and meals.
