On June 29th, the AUSF Executive Committee Meeting was held in the Continental Hotel in Belgrade, Serbia. Besides the welcome address of the President, the reports of Secretary General and the Treasurer, the main theme of this meeting was on the reform of AUSF, including the following three aspects as the reform of the system, the organizational structure and the management in terms of both governing board and Secretariat. Through the reform, the development of AUSF was expected to be further promoted.
The whole meeting was divided into two sections. Section I started at 19h00 on the evening of 29th June, just following the FISU General Assembly. During this section, the Secretary General led the others to briefly review the championships held and to be held in 2009 and shared with the others the final decision of FISU’s CDSU on how to promote the development of FISU Continental Associations. After that, the Treasurer made a report on the AUSF Financial situation. As a reforming aspect of reporting of AUSF EC Meeting, all the assessors were invited by the President to make a brief report on behalf of their sub-regions, in a hope to update the information and shared with the others what was going on in their sub-regions. Also, Mr. BAYASGALAN Danzandorj, FISU Treasurer, was invited to this meeting.
The second section started at 9h30 on the morning of 30th June. During this section, the AUSF calendar 2010 – 2011 was settled, based on which the AUSF Secretariat will submit AUSF Projects to FISU for financial support. The most productive aspect in this meeting was the appointment of 4 chairs and 4 vice-chairs, ensuring the smooth communication between the Secretariat and 4 sub-regions, i.e. West Asia, ASEAN and South Asia, Central Asia and Northeast Asia. Besides that, the first draft of AUSF Financial Regulations was discussed, which was urgently needed in order to keep the transparency of AUSF Finance. During this meeting section, Mr. KILLIAN George, FISU President and Chair of CDSU and Mr. BERGH Stefan, Vice President of FISU and Vice Chair of CDSU were invited. They highly praised the productiveness of this AUSF EC Meeting.
