FISU 1st Vice-President at CIFP Congress

FISU 1st Vice-President Oleg Matytsin 

KAZAN – On 18 and 19 July the city of Kazan – the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan – hosted participants and guests of the International Fair Play Committee (CIFP).  The CIPF events in Kazan included the International Congress “Fair Play – Dignity and Achievements in Sport”; the CIFP Council session and the annual CIFP Award Ceremony.  FISU was represented at these events by its   1st Vice-President Oleg Matysin.

During the CIFP Council meeting Oleg Matytsin made a presentation where he emphasized the importance of mutual efforts of FISU and CIFP in  promoting values of Fair Play among young people worldwide and the successful implementation of the cooperation programme during the 2013 Summer and Winter Universiades in Kazan (Russia) and Trentino (Italy) respectively.

Upon the FISU 1st Vice-President’s proposal, the CIFP Council made a decision to prepare the plan of FISU and CIPF joint events for 2015 including the 28th Summer Universiade 2015 and the FISU Gala. This project will be presented to the FISU Steering Committee for further approval of the FISU Board.

Oleg Matytsin also took part in the CIPF Congress where he was the moderator of the first Plenary Meeting. The CIPF Congress was attended by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Natalia Parshikova,  Republic of Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, President of the International Fencing Federation Alisher Usmanov, CIPF President Jeno Kamuti and President of the International Federation of Sport Movies and Television Franco Ascani.
