23 June 2012

KUORTANE – Mr. Ibrahim Cicioglu, FISU technical chair of wrestling, visited the site of tenth World University Wrestling Championship at the end of May. Simultaneously with his visit, the Organising Committee gathered for its third meeting in 2012. After careful inspection and fruitful discussions with the members of the Organising Committee, Mr. Cicioglu confirmed his satisfaction towards the way, how the preparations of the event are carried out in Kuortane, Finland.

Kuortane Sports Institute, a host of the 2008 World University Floorball Championship, offers excellent facilities for wrestling as well as very compact and unique setting ensuring a pleasant stay for all participants. So far, twenty countries from four continents have registered for the championship. The next step in entry procedure is quantitative registration which should be done via the FISU online registration system before July 2nd. Until that deadline, it is still possible to register for the competition also for those countries, which have not sent their general entries yet.
