CORUM – On the fifth day of 12th World University Wrestling Championship, which is hosted by Hitit University in Çorum, the male wrestlers came into action. The wrestlers fought against their rivals in four categories, i.e. 59, 71, 80 and 98 kg.
In (GR) 59 kg category, Kanybek Zholchubekov (KGZ) got ahead of his 9 rivals and won the gold medal. Farshad Isvandmahmoudi (IRI) settled for silver and Victor Ciobanu (MDA) shared third place with Ayhan Karakus (TUR).
In the 71 kg, 9 wrestlers battled for the gold and it was Pavel Liakh (BLR) who was victorious. While Demeu Zhadrayev (KAZ) became second, Cengiz Arslan (TUR) and Boroomand Aslan Gharehdaghi (IRI) ended third in the competition.
In the 80 kg category, Peter Nagy (HUN) beat Turkish wrestler Aslan Atem to the gold while Adlan Akiev (RUS) shared third place with Viktar Sasunouski (BLR).
In the (GR) 98 kg category, Turkish Fatih Baskoy beat Daniel Gastl (AUT). Russian wrestler Ilia Borisov and Siarhei Staradub (BLR) won the bronze.
