Accreditation now open for the 2020 WUC season!

Championships 15 August 2019

LAUSANNE – With just over six months to go for the start of the 2020 FISU World University Championships season, the accreditation system is now open for all the Championships on the calendar. The season begins with the Cross Country Championship in Marrakech on 7 March 2020 and will close in late November, with the Badminton event being held in Thailand.

The FISU World University Championships bring together the world’s best student athletes in a wide array of sports and disciplines that are not part of the FISU Universiade sports programme. This includes exciting sports like Cheerleading as well as ever-popular ones like Beach Volleyball and Futsal. An inaugural World University Mind Sport Championship will be held in Bydgoszcz, Poland, combining Bridge and Chess for the very first time.

On the 2020 calendar, FISU welcomes three new National University Sports Federations (NUSFs) to the hosting family – namely Argentina (Rugby Sevens), Morocco (Cross Country) and Ukraine (Waterski & Wakeboard). The geographical spread of the Championships includes events in the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia.

All of FISU’s member federations are now invited to register their intent to field athletes in the Championships. The quantitative and individual entry registrations will be available from October 2019 onwards. The updated 2020 calendar can be found here.

The process has just begun for university athletes around the world to start getting set for the 2020 FISU World University Championships season, that promises to be a fantastic one. The online accreditation system can be found here
