2nd WUC Netball – Update Day 1
MIAMI – With glossy floors, and the smell of fresh wax still lingering in the sports venue, the stage was set for the opening game between South Africa and the United States, yesterday 13 July. South Africa took the win with a 93 to 18 score. The Uganda team, also known as the Mighty Cranes, literally leapt into their victory with a 73 to 37 win. A team of jumpers, they are. The next game, between Australia and Jamaica, was a nail-biter, as they went head to head for the entire game. There were only a few minutes left on the clock be-fore the “likkle but tallawah” Jamaica took a four point lead on Australia with 72-38. South Africa took another lead after their game with Namibia scoring 74 to 30. The day came to a close as Trinidad defeated the United States with a 55 to 39 score.
