11th WUC Archery coming up Next!

ULAANBAATAR – There is only one day left to the opening of the 11th World University Archery Championship. Ulaanbaatar (MGL) is ready for this event and is waiting for the student-athletes and officials from all over the world. Most of the national teams have already arrived in Ulaanbaatar. The organizers are waiting for only one more.  Moreover, Tai-Cheng Chen, FISU Executive member, Juan Carlos Holgado, FISU Technical Delegate for Archery, FISU members and the International Referees have already arrived in the host city.

Officials and competitors will be housed at the 4-Star Hotel Bayangol which is located 30 minutes from the competition site.

Twenty three countries have entered the competition, i.e. Italy, France, India, Japan, Australia, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Czech Republic, Germany, Sweden, Belgium, Slovakia, Malaysia, Republic of Korea, Switzerland, Chinese Taipei, Costa Rica, Poland, Finland, Singapore, Russian Federation, Mongolia, Turkey and the United States of America.

All of the delegates already got the accreditation card on 30th of May to 1st of June. From 29 May the competitors had the possibility for their practice session. The athletes will have the practice session at least once a day.

Today, 1 June, is the day of strenuous labor for the Organizing Committee that is focused on preparing and providing accreditations for competitors and coaching staffs. Furthermore, the volunteers are improving the last technical details on the venues. Also today will be a day of last confirmations concerning the Opening Ceremony which takes place on 2 June at 5 p.m. in the National Stadium of Ulaanbaatar and is connected with the inauguration of a folklore festival. Tomorrow morning the FISU technical delegates will organize the Equipment qualification session.

On 4 June, the semi-final will held in the National Stadium of Ulaanbaatar. The Closing Ceremony and the Finals will take a place in the Chinggis Khan square (main square of the Ulaanbaatar city) on 5 June.
