2010 WUC Woodball Update: CT Chair Visits Venue

Participants from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Sudan at the Woodball Referees’ Workshop in preparation for the 3rd World University Woodball Championship to be held later this year in Kampala

 

The National University Sports Federation of Uganda together with the Uganda Woodball Federation and the Organizing Committee of the 3rd World University Woodball Championship hosted the FISU CT Chair- Woodball Prof. Huang in Kampala from 19th -22nd February 2010. The purpose of the visit was to determine the preparedness of Uganda to host the 3rd World University Woodball Championship scheduled to take place from 22nd August to 26th August 2010 at the Speke Resort Munyonyo. At the same time the Organising Committee took advantage of the presence of Prof. Huang in the country and organized a two and half day referees’ workshop to develop capacity of officials to be used during the World University Championship.

At the end of the three day’s visit, Prof. Huang expressed satisfaction of the preparations and was all praises for the Organizing Committee, The National University Sports Federation of Uganda, The Uganda Woodball Federation, and the government of Uganda for work well done and for the beautiful course.

Meanwhile the National University Sports Federation of Uganda is working on a bid to host the next 2012 World University Cross Country in Entebbe and this will be presented to FISU for considereation by early next month.
