Krasnoyarsk to host Winter Universiade 2019 Alpine Skiing test event

In anticipation for next year’s Winter Universiade, Krasnoyarsk’s Funpark “Bobrovy Log” will host a test event from 4-10 March for the Russian Cup “Tzimik Memorial,” the Russian FIS Alpine Skiing Championship.

 

The competition programme includes downhill, slalom, giant slalom and parallel team events with about 150 athletes from different regions of the country are expected to take part in the competitions.

 

The alpine events will be held on the slopes of the Funpark Bobrovy Log, a venue with a total of nine courses meeting the FIS race standards for Slalom, Giant Slalom, Super G and Downhill.

An investment project made by Nornickel, a General Partner of the Winter Universiade 2019, the complex is equipped with the modern artificial snow-making and injection systems that provides high-quality, stable snow cover that corresponds to the high requirements of the international competitions, ensuring equal conditions for all competitors.

 

Event organizers are the Russian Alpine Skiing Championship and Russian Cup stage are the Russian Alpine Ski and Snowboard Federation and the National Alpine Ski League. Competitions will be held under the aegis of the International Ski Federation (FIS) and can be attended by the athletes from other countries.

 

In 2018, Krasnoyarsk will host eight test events in anticipation of the Winter Universiade 2019: this includes seven winter sports events and the FISU Forum in the summer.
