Master'U BNP PARIBAS: USA wins 4th Consecutive Time!

RENNES - Sunday in Saint-Grégoire/Rennes Métropole, the United States won the 9th edition of Master'U BNP Paribas, the International University Tennis Challenge organised by FFSU.

The US players have achieved a feat by winning their fourth consecutive BNP Paribas Master'U, a record in the tournament’s history.

The Americans have dominated France in the final, despite the French home advantage in front of a boisterous crowd cheering in favour of ‘Les Bleus’. In the women’s singles, Victoria Larrière was beaten by Robin Anderson (6-1, 6-2) and Alice Bacquié was not strong enough to face Julia Elbaba (6-2, 6-4). In the men’s, Gregory Jacq lost against the winner of the 2014 Junior Wimbledon, Noah Rubin (6-2, 6-4). In the second men's singles match, Antoine Hoang maintained France’s hope dominating Kiatkowski in three sets (6-7, 6-3, 7-5). The hope for a French overall victory however, didn’t last long, even though the women's doubles, the pair composed of Larriere/Bacquié, came close, not bowing after the super tie-break (6-2, 3- 6, 10-3). No regrets for Team France, who finds the podium after a frustrating fourth place last year.
