FISU Executive Committee member Fernando Parente honored as Sports Manager of the Year 2017

The awards keep rolling in for the leaders within the international University Sport community. Fernando Parente, current member of the Executive Committee of FISU and former member of the Board of EUSA, was honored with the “Sports Manager of the Year 2017” award at the XVIII National Congress of Sports Management held in the Portuguese City of Viseu.

 

 

 

The Director of the Sports and Cultural Department of the University of Minho received the award for the quality of their work in university sports in Portugal and also in terms of national sports development.

 

 

In 2016, the prize was awarded to Fernando Gomes, President of the Portuguese Football Federation and the Vice Presidents of FIFA and UEFA. This year, the Portuguese Association of Sports Management (APOGESD) recognized the career and the activity in the management and organization of the sport developed by Fernando Parente for almost 30 years!

 

 

Organized by APOGESD, this 18th edition of the Congress was submitted to the theme “Sport in the Cities of the Future”, an emerging and most important issue at a time when cities are empowered to environmental challenges and planning the future requires.
