CBDU launches 2014 Competitions Calendar

FISU 22 January 2014

BRASILIA The Brazilian University Sport Association (CBDU) takes off for another competitions season in 2014. In this year’s calendar, three FISU World University Championships (Triathlon, Basketball 3×3, Rugby Sevens) and the special project ‘International Beach Games’ will take place in Brazil, besides eleven series of the University Sport League (LDU) and the 62nd Brazilian University Games (JUBS).

“2013 was marked with several achievements for CBDU, i.e. the return and success of the JUBs, the attribution of Brasília as the host city of the 30th Summer Universiade in 2019 and the Brazilian delegation participation in the Kazan Summer Universiade and the Trentino Winter Universiade”, CBDU President and FISU Vice-President Luciano Cabral commented. “In 2014 we are going to work hard to break the participation record in the national competitions and make more efforts to make university sport well known in Brazil.”

Brazil kicks off with the WUC Triathlon that will be hosted in Brasília, from 10 to 21 April.

This week, the CBDU Board will meet in Brasília for the evaluation week of 2013 and the further planning for 2014.
