ERZURUM – January 30th- The Nordic Combined competition continued today with the 10km Cross Country Mass start followed by the K 95 Ski Jumping. The weather conditions were perfect with fresh snow, no wind but no sun.
Traditionally strong, the Japanese skiers proved once again their excellent abilities at this event. Aguri Shimizu ranked 4th after the 10km mass start cross country race but performed two excellent jumps on the K95 normal hill. Force and regularity offered him the Gold Medal today. Tomasz Pochhwala made also two good jumps but was only ranked 9th after the Cross Country race. He gained the Silver. Tommy Schmid from Switzerland completed this podium.
