Russian delegation is ready for the Gwangju Universiade

At the eve of the 2015 Summer Universiade a working meeting of the RF Minister of Sport Vitaly Mutko with the Russian Student Sports Union President (RSSU) Oleg Matytsin, representatives from the 21 sports federations – coaches and athletes, director of the Center for sports training teams and head of the Department of Sport Medicine Organization of the Federal medical and biological agency (FMBA) was held.

The main issue to discuss was training and participation, flight schedule and equipment of the Russian national team at the XXVIII Summer Universiade.

The Russian delegation is one of the largest (471 athletes and 198 officials) and will participate in all sports, except baseball.

A large work on organizing tasks solution and collecting necessary documentation was well made by RSSU and Russian sports federations.

During all Universiade preparation days Russian Students Sport Union worked in close collaboration with the International University Sports Federation (FISU) and Gwangju Universiade Organizing Committee and sincere appreciate their kind cooperation and understanding.

Special attention was paid to the effective medical support of the Russian delegation. RSSU together with the FMBA worked on the formation of special medical group that will come to the Universiade.

Russian fans will be able to see TV broadcasting of the Universiade at the federal channels and web-portal www.russiasport.ru.

Summing up the meeting results, the Minister noted the considerable volume of the executed work and marked the high level of the athletes preparations for the forthcoming starts. He charged the Russian delegation with good words and wished athletes, trainers and specialists to achieve the best results and demonstrate the highest level of students sport development in Russia.
