Medals and Dedicated App for 2015 WU Granada presented

FISU 29 January 2015

GRANADA – Today, 29 January, the OC of Granada 2015 has presented the medals of the 27th Winter Universiade to the media at a press conference in the Palacio de Congresos in the centre of the city. The press conference was attended by City Councilman for Sports Antonio Granados, the delegate of the government in the city, Sandra Garcia and manager of the Universiade, Ignacio Pipó.

Some 400 medals will be awarded during the Granada Universiade (4 and 14 February). The medal design has been coordinated by Granada citizen José Luis García, who created the official logo back in 2009 when the city became a candidate to host the Universiade.

According to Garcia, the medals are just an evolution of the original logo, which is dividing each of its parts to reach its rounded shape. “What you get is a medal that maintains the look of the event, which revolves around the logo”, the artist commented.

Official App

The OC also took this media opportunity to present the new official Universiade application for mobile devices, made by the local company Tic Development, composed entirely of engineers trained at the University of Granada. The free official app is available for iOS and android and allows real time following of all competitions, schedules, news, weather and transport as well as interaction with social networks.

You can install the app via the Apple Store (iOS) and the Google Play Store (Android).
