Gwangju Universiade appoints “Blog Reporters”

GUOC 2015 held the appointment ceremony for the 5th edition of the Blog Reporters at the committee headquarters on 26 June with 25 newly appointed reporters in attendance

 

GWANGJU – To spread the atmosphere of participation and cooperation among the nation, the 2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade Organizing Committee (GUOC 2015) has appointed the 5th edition of ‘Blog Reporters’ and has officially began another round of online promotional activities.

The Gwangju Universiade Blog Reporters will cover various issues such as preparations for the Games, sports related matters, daily life information and so on, and post them on Korean and English blogs to promote the dynamic news of the Gwangju Universiade to those in Korea as well as abroad.

The 5th group of Blog Reporters consists of 25 people including university students from Gwangju, Seoul, and Gyeongsang province as well as power bloggers. They will be acting as online promotional messengers for the Gwangju Universiade until this coming December.

During the appointment ceremony, the reporters were presented with the preparations made for the Games and education on efficient blog management and SNS utilization tactics. Afterwards, excellence awards were given out to the outstanding members of the 4th edition of blog reporters.

Park Hyun-chung, Director General of the PR & Media Division, said, “Online media such as blogs and SNS channels are one of the most important means of promotions and it is important that the Gwangju Universiade gains sympathy from the public.” He also urged the appointed blog reporters to feel proud as promotional messengers of the Gwangju Universiade and do their utmost in making the Gwangju Universiade widely known.

Since its launch in 2011, the Gwangju Universiade Blog reporters have had 104 participants actively take part and more than 1,000 blog articles have been uploaded to the Gwangju Universiade blog, with more than 730,000 visitors.
