1st National University Games of Albania

 

TIRANA - From April 22nd to 24th, the finals of the 1st National Universiade of Albania took place in the country’s capital Tirana. Indeed, this is the first time that such a national event is organized by ASSA, the NUSF of Albania that became member of FISU in 2005.

Preliminary tournaments to select the finalists were organized in the same week (April 19th to 21st) in four different cities, i.e. Shkodër, Korçë, Elbasan and Tirana.

To underline the importance of this competition, the Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, gave is high patronage to this event.

800 student-athletes from 14 universities (9 public and 5 private) participated in the final competition.

 

 

Five sports were at the program of this first edition:

Basketball: Women & Men

Volleyball: Women & Men
Track and Field: Women & Men
Table Tennis: Women & Men
Futsal: Men
