Raija Mattila & Kate Laine
On November 29th in Brussels, the Co-Chair of the International Working on Women and Sport, Ms. Raija Mattila and Kate Laine Communications Manager (Temporary Director) met with Kole Gjeloshaj, Director Education Services and Tijana Grujic Assistant Education and Development department.
The purpose of the meeting was to study the cooperation opportunities for the next events of both organizations with a special focus on the 6th IWG World Conference on Women and Sport. This Conference organised every four years will take place in Helsinki, Finland from June 12th to 15th, 2014. The delegates also discussed potential collaboration between FISU and IWG for the 12th FISU Forum in Gwangju, Korea, from March 17th to 22nd, 2014.
As FISU and some of its members signed “The Brighton Declaration on Women and Sport”, the situation of the number of NUSFs that signed the document was also reviewed.
Finally, the delegates of both entities presented the opportunities and tools they have at their disposal for promoting their respective events.
