EUSA office celebrates #letsIDUS and #beactive

European University Sports Association (EUSA) celebrated this year’s International Day of University Sport (IDUS) and the European Week of Sport with the #beactive campaign with several activities, focused around the EUSA Convention, which was held in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia between September 20 and 23, 2018.

The EUSA Convention was attended by over 90 participants from 20 European countries, including representatives of the organisers of the European Universities Championships and Games, members of the EUSA Technical and Medical Commission and the EUSA Staff.

EUSA President Adam Roczek and Secretary General Matjaz Pecovnik welcomed participants to the event, which included presentations, workshops and meetings, centred around putting on high-quality EUSA events. This included the sharing of best practices from the European Universities Championships and Games from past organisers to the upcoming event hosts.

The participants are took part in the International Day of University Sport (IDUS), proclaimed by UNESCO on the initiative of FISU, as well as the European Week of Sport and the #beactive campaign, as both September celebrations complement each other well.

All participants could join the #LetsIDUS #beactive sports activities, some of them realised as the morning runs, cycling activities, adrenaline zip line and team sports activities held in the gym of the local elementary school.

Celebrations also continued with activities also outside the Convention, with EUSA Office going on a hike to Roznik Hill in Ljubljana, and all commission and partners meetings in the September period also containing additional sports activities. Many EUSA member federations were also actively contributing to the events; check back in the coming days for an overview of the university sports celebrations across Europe in the coming days.
