Forum Work Meeting in Gwangju

GWANGJU – On October 26th, the representatives of the organising committee of the FISU FORUM 2014, Mr. Jun-Man Kim and Jung-Ho Bin met with the FISU Director for Educational Services, Kolë Gjeloshaj. The 12th edition of this event gathering students as well as the managers and the leaders of the national university sports federations will be held from March 17th to 22nd in the city that will host the Summer Universiade in 2015.

If the main reason of the meeting was to settle the last details in the preparation for the Forum, the FISU Conference that will be held during the Universiade in 2015 was also part of the discussions.

The sessions of the FISU Forum are going to take place in the Kimdaejung Convention Center. Usually more than 200 participants from 55 countries are participating. The organising committee confirmed that the delegates will be transferred from Seoul to Gwangju.

The programme of the Forum is of course focused on the working sessions but it is also the place for team building between all actors of the FISU Family and the participants. This is the main reasons of having sport and cultural activities. The official sports at the programme are Basketball 3×3 and Taekwondo.

The themes and subthemes of the 12th FISU Forum are:

 “University Sport: a Networking Platform to Advance the Technical, Social and Cultural Skills of Young Leaders”

 Sub-Themes:

“Ethics: Individual Social Responsibility and/vs University Sport Responsibility”

“Social Media in University Sport: New Challenges”

“University Sport: A Fair Culture for Sustainable Development from gender studies perspective”

“Leadership in Large Scale University Sports Events”
